Lime Chime
Death by a thousand cuts is undoubtably worse with lemon juice
One man's trash is another mans duckstack
Short Duckstack today due to logistics issues. This week’s content will be bundled up, rolled over, patted down, tucked in, packed tight, and then flipped across into Next Week’s Issue.1
The Duckstack is like a particle, and it is also like a wave, depending on where you observe it from, and how loose your definitions for particle and wave are. Personally I’m willing to go pretty far- a black hole is definitely a wave, and a pixel is definitely a particle. Not that The Duckstack is a black hole, but more that it arrives in waves, I suppose. And it is incumbent upon you, the reader, to build a tower defense to keep yourself safe, shooting down all these feral Duckstack emails that keep arriving in your inbox, deleting them without reading them, I know you are. But I also know that you’re sorry. And I forgive you2.
Busy Bees
Worker bees take the bee bus on the commute to their hive, that’s why they’re called “bus-y bees”
Like many of you, I have been busy once or twice in my life. There is no need to fret when this happens, in fact being busy is a normal thing, that happens to normal people, who are lying. Nobody is actually busy. Even if you buy into the myth that time exists, the idea that you as a person would be governed by it feels absurd. Do you feel governed by time? Do you feel a need to report your actions to it like its some sort of petty superior? I don’t. I’m a free man, and whenever two things on my schedule conflict it is because time has failed me. This is the more true way of looking at things.
The truth of the matter is, time isn’t sentient. I’m sure I’m offending some time-lovers3 with this but its really best to accept reality here- time can’t think or judge you, and it can’t interfere with your schedule. If you’re busy its just an illusion, or at a minimum user error. Time should be viewed something like a car, though not nearly as complex as a car. A clock maybe? No probably not a clock. Time is nothing like a clock. We’ll go with a car. Time is like a car, and it just runs out of gas sometimes. That’s when you get busy. Or sometimes time has crashed, with someone else’s time, making a big mess and ruining everyone’s day. You might think that’s weird but you have to understand the reason it happens is because time is like a car.
Histoooory
Toddler’s new hobby is sock puppets. In public. With the socks he’s supposed to be wearing on his feet.
Wife asked toddler if he saw any leaves changing colors, and the toddler put on this growling angry voice and started chant/shouting “I SEE RED. I SEE RED.”
The toddler found an acorn in the park and was holding it for dear life before dropping it. Reaching out for it in despair he cried: “EGG! PRETTY EGG!” Very sad
The toddler has a way of saying “I neeeeeed” when he wants something. We were cutting up his fruit and were like“Hang on baby let me cut up the fruit for you” and he told us “I neeeed to eat it, I need to put it mouf”
My wife stepped onto some stairs that had glass railings and were very high up and she squeaked with fear of heights, and the toddler noticed this so when he was going down the stairs (completely unafraid, as he is of everything) he would imitate her squeaks every so often. Really rubbing it in
“mama, did you build me?” uhh…. Yes?
We were driving down a road after dark and it started to get a lot of trees and stuff, and Jethro said “This is a spooky place now.” and I told him “That's good, right?” and he said “Why is it good?” and I reminded him “Because you like spooky.” and he was like “Oh! Ha ha, silly me.” He likes being scared but sometimes forgets that he likes it and becomes actually scared so its important to remind him.
Driving an electric vehicle this week I told my wife “Good news, full charge.” and then Jethro from the back seat continued in his most somber tone, “bad news, rhinos attacking the city.” He’s making an inside joke off of something he said almost a full year ago. And he’s right, that is bad news.
“Is that a threat?” Its a promise
Sometimes, truth be told, I delete ‘em without reading ‘em myself. You ask me what was in The Duckstack and I have no idea
