I hate that profanity has invaded our culture. It may be among the least of sins but hides other ugliness deeper in. Words have meaning. Just using them to shock your audience is cheap and no longer has shock value. We hear it all the time. What makes it insidious is the lack of concern for the spiritual growth and development of those around you. One definition of love, from the Road Less Traveled, is "Extending yourself for the spiritual growth and development of yourself or the people around you." Actively tearing others down just to add emphasis is anti-love. Truly vulgar, or less than it could be.
Now that I have posted this, because of the djck stack's popularity, I will never be afflicted by profanity again. Thank you all for your consideration.
I don't think John McCain's religion was an issue. I had to look it up right now to even know what it was. Were you perhaps thinking of the 2012 election?
