Oh, well imagine, as I’m pacing the pews in a Duckstack corridor, and I can’t help but to hear no I can’t help but to hear an exchanging of words:
Humble reader, or arrogant reader (whichever you are), or middling apathetic reader (whichever you are), I welcome you to The Duckstack, the last truly free newsletter on the internet (I haven’t checked so idk if this is true) (just use your best judgement). You’re now humbly/arrogantly/apathetically A Part Of This, you’re fused to this week’s duckstack by virtue of reading it, a big katamari ball of newsletter which when it gets big enough I’m going to bowl straight through the President’s wall and demand a refund.
Blinkered Highway
Cryptocurrency tends to encrypt the soul1.
On a tabletop, there’s a bunch of little robots shivering and moving in place incuriously. Suddenly, one robot beeps, “buy!” Immediately a frenzy sweeps through the nodes, “Buy! Buy! Buy!”, it quickly becomes a cacophony, the hundreds of little robots beeping “buy” to each other. Suddenly and without much reason, one robot switches. “Sell!” "Sell! Sell! Sell!” hundreds of little robots, quickly picking up the new signal. For a couple seconds there’s many little robots signaling “buy!” and “sell!” at the same time, but pretty quickly they’re all on the same page. Eventually they get bored and settle down, waiting for a new signal.
There’s a ghoul made of cryptocurrencies that wants to turn you into one of these little robots, not human but an electrode repeater where all you do is beep. It will put you on this table and you’ll encode random noise until its spell wears off and you wake up from your semaphore dream to blearily re-emerge into the real world. I don’t think there’s any lasting effects or being turned into a beeping robot is particularly harmful by the way its just a thing that happens.
NIGHTWATCH
SOMEONE FORGOT TO GATEKEEP MUSIC AND NOW ITS FULL OF NORMIES
There’s a principle of entropy in online fandoms and it takes some serious builders2 to keep destruction at bay. One purpose of jargon is gatekeeping, to make things opaque to people who have no business being “in the know”, it forces them to earn knowledge, and in the process of earning they gain understanding and perspective of how to use it and why. But there’s also a desire for communities to grow3, so you want to make things more “accessible” to people. The lower barrier to entry leads to a sharp decrease in quality4. This isn’t catastrophic or insurmountable, quality can be sustained through gatekeeping, persuasion, and energy, and the reason I’m writing about this is the Nightcore community has totally failed.
I’d try to explain to you what Nightcore is, but the point is the concept has become so diluted it really doesn’t matter, if you look up Nightcore you’ll just find un-edited pop songs and generic techno, sometimes just with a female vocalist cover, sometimes literally just dubstep mixes, which was extremely frustrating to me because I was in a life or death situation this week5 where I needed to listen to Nightcore music to live.
So in any case if you care about the product/culture/etc there’s bound to be disagreements about “the mission” or what the culture should be, there’s going to be gatekeeping (read: bullying) within the community against even other community members, for insufficient purity to their ideals, but usually this increases the general purity of the product, and even if done without power, these people let everyone else know that whatever it is, the community/culture/product/commons, it is not something to be treated lightly! It is something to care about6! These signals make everyone care more, even if disagreements are heated7. So thank your local gatekeeper today, they keep the monsters at bay. (you do not have to like them most gatekeepers are insufferable)
HISTORY
Hand crafted history straight from the history barrel.
I’ve gone and become an adept at sculpting unfortunately. You know those videos where Asians fabricate whole structures out of ramen noodles? its like that.
A broken paint gun is the noisiest power tool I’ve used in my life I’m deaf now
The little one really likes putting screwdrivers in electrical outlets haha he’s probably going to be an electrician haha (screaming)
The little one also loves us and has decided the best time to tell us this is right after he gets in trouble for example for being a little too analytical towards screwdrivers.
Last Words
“Last Words”, the hit new duckstack column8 where you, the reader, gets the last words!

The return of the revenge of the Last Words of The Duckstack
I have seen this happen to many cool people
Bullheads
Living things like to grow
this is why I will NEVER sell out the duckstack, it will always be intellectually impenetrable
I felt like listening to nightcore music but since I don’t listen to nightcore music I didn’t have a nightcore playlist handy the way I do for the other 44 genres I listen to
Leftists aggressively harass other leftists for being insufficiently leftist (the name of this eternal jihad is “intersectionality”) and the right likes to make fun of the contradictions and hypocrisy and nonsensicality of it all, but fundamentally these people are actually adding energy to the movement and making everyone else more zealous, not driving leftists out.
No gatekeepers is how you get fast nexus
