Imagine you’re for example doing parkour on a zeppelin, disjointed floating jungle gym bars jut at disorienting angles and you are running, and jumping, and trying like mad to keep the bowl of pottage you are carrying from falling over and sullying the pristine zeppelin surface. Just imagine. That’d be pretty significant, wouldn’t it? It would really make you think. The heavens are no place for pottage. Only Zeppelins.
Zeppelins are extinct now (they are all in heaven), but from archeological excavations of their fossils we have been able to determine that they had no TSA1. No strip searches, no bureaucracy, no beeping x-ray machines sending your biometrics to PayPal- you could literally just bring shampoo on the zeppelin and wash your hair if you wanted to. In your dream of zeppelin parkour, was your hair golden, flowing, and luscious? If not, then please issue a correction to bring it to be more in line with historical realities. The accuracy of dreams is extremely important.
MARIJUANA
Brigham Young said that the time would come when nobody would be able to even give birth without calling for a doctor. Doctors aren’t particularly evil (yet), but my impression of all the doctors I’ve met is that they aren’t exactly saints2 either. The other day I saw a billboard on the highway for Medicinal™ marijuana with a rainbow design, which I thought was an fascinating bit of propagandal cross-pollination. I’m a bit averse to drugs- I pretty much avoid Advil and Tylenol and everything. You could say pain is what separates men from machines, among other things that you could say. Friendship also separates men from the machines. I’m against dumping random chemicals into people in general.
I’ve been asked to give a brief sermon about the e-girl.
Joseph Smith said friendship was a fundamental gospel principle- that’s not something you usually associate with the Bible, but it's absolutely something you associate with sainthood, and the association of the saints. Simply put we should be striving for considering people friends, not merely tolerating each other or laissez-faires type atomized neighborhoods.
There’s a stereotype of a girl online called the e-girl which is almost universally despised in any community. People hate the distraction from their hobbies, which to a community built around anything specific will feel parasitic, but they also have a tendency to become massive loci of drama. The e-girl psychology is that they don’t form friendships, they form alliances- their interactions with other women are characterized by an almost predatory status evaluation. If they decide they’re useful to each other, they’ll kind of boost each other’s content in orbits carefully designed not to encroach each other’s territory, but the moment one feels like the other didn’t boost them right, the “friendship” ends in a very public way. The point is whatever they’re doing, its not just hanging out. The male equivalent of this is a grifter (as opposed to a peddler), but grifters aren’t as despised online because they don’t pop up in communities unrelated to their grift and do not simulate relationships with their opposite gender followers. Plus, grifters are at least selling something.
Moses speaks of a secret combination formed by Cain with the devil, and perpetuated by Lamech, which was to murder and get gain3. Literally, the ability to transmute lives into money. It is the principle behind Multi level marketing, it is the devil’s counterfeit of the heavenly principle of friendship. It keeps happening- my wife and I meet someone outgoing, gregarious, and seemingly good natured in the store or something, we exchange numbers with intent of hosting a board game night, and two weeks later I get a call from them asking if I’m looking to “branch out into some new business opportunities”4. Old friends have done this, my wife says “well that… Pretty much damaged our friendship irreparably.” Its tragic, and these people don’t realize what they’re doing. Literally blinded by the prospect of money.
There is nothing wrong with selling to friends- It is a true act of friendship to support a friend, but it is not a true act of friendship to receive support, and in exchange lie about what you’re giving back. That is the domain of the salesmen, which works fine when their position is explicit. You know you’ll build no relationship with them, so you aren’t obligated to trust them. Even if they spout platitudes like “our customers are family” you still understand it as marketing. Would you ever say: “My car salesman”? No. But you do this with real estate agents, who pretend up and down that their customers are their friends.

Action movies clearly demonstrate that nobody is checking these guys for weapons.
Mad Scientists, however, do count as “the pure in heart”
31 And Cain said: Truly I am Mahan, the master of this great secret, that I may murder and get gain. Wherefore Cain was called Master Mahan, and he gloried in his wickedness.
